About

Our Mission is to promote the game of Futsal as a player development initiative as part of FC Buffalo’s growing Player Development Programming.

FC Buffalo Futsal specializes in the promotion and education of the sport of Futsal through training programs and matches.

FC Buffalo and Algonquin Sports for Kids recognize that the introduction of a Futsal program can positively impact the key areas of player development in all levels and ages. Our program is carefully designed to serve ALL players at ALL levels - those new to soccer/futsal and players with Travel and Club experience.

This is a “Club Agnostic” Program. Algonquin Sports for Kids and FC Buffalo are committed to maintaining their independence and objectivity. We are NOT a club and have no soccer club affiliation. Although we utilize the support and cooperation of soccer coaches from many neighboring soccer programs, we have no affiliations. Soccer players from one club can rest assured that they will never be pressured to join other clubs in the course of playing futsal with our program. In addition, we ask that ALL participants refrain from wearing or bringing any of their Club gear that is branded with external logos.

What is Futsal?

Futsal is played in all the continents of the world by over 100 countries with 12 million players. The sport is a great skill developer as it demands quick reflexes, fast thinking, pin-point passing. The small, heavier futsal ball requires players to hone their ball-striking and ball handling technique. Great soccer superstars such as Pele, Zico, Ronaldo, Messi, Kaka, Marta, Alexis Putella and Katia grew up playing the game and credit futsal with developing their skills.

Futsal is the only form of indoor soccer endorsed by FIFA. It is a 5 v 5 small-sided game played on a hard surfaced, basketball sized court with a smaller, heavier low bounce ball. Futsal is played with touchline boundaries and without walls.

This is the game that outdoor soccer players around the globe play to refine and maintain their control skills and touch.
